How To Be An Eco-Friendly RVer

Believe it or not, RV vacations prove to be friendlier to our environment than flying to a destination or staying in a hotel. There’s a lot you can do to make your RV experiences more eco-friendly. Here are 5 tips to green RVing:

Use Solar Panels

Conserve energy and protect the earth by using solar panels to power your RV. These panels will help you run your RV without the smell, the noise or the expense of running your propane generator. Not sure where to start? Contact our Parts Department and one of our RV Parts Representatives will tell you which solar panel is best for your unit and what you’ll need to do to get started.

Minimize Trash

Instead of packing paper plates and plastic utensils, use real dishes instead. This will eliminate the amount of trash you generate. You can also do simple things like, reusing plastic water bottles, instead of throwing them out – or better yet, purchase some re-usable bottles and keep them in your RV for constant use. Lastly, make sure you recycle anything you can. If your campsite does not have a recycling program, Google the nearest recycling center and drop it off on your way home.

Use A Clothesline

Dry your swimsuits, towels and other items that you feel must be washed and allow the wind and the sun to naturally dry your laundry. The best part- it’s free!

Biodegradable Soaps

There are many all-in-one biodegradable soaps out there. These soaps can be used for so many purposes like dishes, showing and laundry. This is also a great solution if you’re looking to minimize the amount of items you haul along with you on your trip.

Utilize Your Campfire!

It’s not camping without a campfire, so put your campfire to good use. You can avoid using propane for your BBQ or stove by cooking your meals over the campfire.
